NAME

svcrontab - maintain svcrontab files for individual users (based on Vixie Cron)

SYNOPSIS

svcrontab [ -u user ] file
svcrontab [ -u user ][ -l " | " -r " | " -e " ] [ -d dir ]

DESCRIPTION

svcrontab is the program used to install, deinstall or list thetables used to drive the svcron (8) program. These tables are presentin /etc/indimail/cron directory. You have three kinds of tables. One is the/etc/indimail/crontab file. Then you have the spool directory /etc/indimail/cron/crontabs.Each user can have their own crontab in the spool directory. You can also havecrontab files in /etc/indimail/cron.d directory.

Apart from the above, any user can create, list, delete crontab filesanywhere specified by -d argument.

If the /etc/indimail/cron/cron.allow file exists, then you must be listedtherein in order to be allowed to use this command. If the/etc/indimail/cron/cron.allow file does not exist but the/etc/indimail/cron/cron.deny file does exist, then you must not belisted in the /etc/indimail/cron/cron.deny file in order to use this command. If neither of these files exists, only the super user will be allowed touse this command.

OPTIONS

-d dir
This option allows you to create user crontabs in dir. With thisoption svcrontab relinquishes setuid privileges, if the setuid bit isset on svcrontab binary.

-u user
Specifies the name of the user whose svcrontab is to be tweaked. If thisoption is not given, svcrontab examines "your" svcrontab, i.e., thesvcrontab of the person executing the command. Note that su (8) canconfuse svcrontab and that if you are running inside of su (8)you should always use the -u option for safety's sake.

The first form of this command is used to install a new svcrontab from somenamed file or standard input if the pseudo-filename ``-'' is given.

-l
display current svcrontab to be displayed on standard output.

-r
remove current svcrontab.

-e
edit the current svcrontab using the editor specified by the VISUALor EDITOR environment variables. After you exit from the editor, the modified svcrontab will be installed automatically.
