unyabba - decompress data compressed with Y coding

unwhap - decompress data compressed with AP coding

SYNTAX

unyabba[-mmem] [-qQvrR] [-ACHUVW]

unwhap[-mmem] [-qQvrR] [-ACHUVW]

DESCRIPTION

unyabbadecompresses its standard input,which must have come fromyabba,and writes the result to its standard output.

unwhapis likeunyabba,but works with files fromwhap.Warning: If you useunwhapexcept for experimental use,you may be infringing upon a patent.

OptionsACHUVWprint the authorship notice,copyright notice,help notice,short usage summary,version number,and warranty information respectively.

unyabbahas several flags:

: Assume that the input was produced for memory sizemem.yabbamust have been given the same value ofmem.memcannot be larger than a value specified at compile-time.Typical values ofmemare 12000, 20000, 40000, 65533, 200000, 500000, and 1000000.
: Assume that the input was ``randomized''byyabba.unyabbawill not expect its usual header,and will strip out the pseudo-random informationintroduced byyabba.Caveat:unyabbanormally checks for the propersetting in the input.Underit cannot do so.
: Look for the usual header, and complain about apparently random input.This is the default.
: unyabbawill be ``verbose'' and report compression statisticsto standard error.
: Quiet.unyabbawill not usestandard error in any way.
: Normal level of verbosity.

andassume a different structure for the compressed file.Be careful to have selected the same flags foryabba.

DIAGNOSTICS

In: xxx chars Out: xxx chars UnY'd from: xx%: The utilizer of the computational machineryhas specified the ``verbose'' optiontounyabbavia theestablishment of the character vwithin an argumentpreceded by a hyphen.
fatal: output error: Self-explanatory.
fatal: input not in right format: Theyabbaheader is not there.
fatal: input has -m xxx, I have -m yyy: Self-explanatory.
fatal: input corrupt: The input is not a compressed file. (Note thatunyabbawill always detect this, unlikeuncompress,which may simply produce incorrect output.)Did you compress with

EXIT CODE

0 normally, 1 for syntax errors or usage messages,2 for output errors,3 if the input is not in the right format,4 if the input was compressed with a different value ofmem,5 if the input is corrupt.
