Index NAME
isoc - minimal ISODE client for testing
SYNOPSIS
isochost provider entity
DESCRIPTION
The
isoc program requests a few minimal ISODE servicesand is useful primarily for debugging purposes.Currently, several entities can be requested, depending on the provider selected. The echo entities will verify that the data they send is received correctly. The
isode/ entities use association control (when applicable)in order to test out these newer facilities.
Further,to measure raw TCP performance, the sink entity can be requested ofthe raw provider. This option depends on the target system already having a TCP sink server inplace.Berkeley UNIX sites usually have such a server.
To summarize:
provider entityraw sinktsap echo, sinkssap echo, sinkpsap echo, sink, isode/echo, isode/sinkrtsap echo, sink, ros_echo, ros_sink, ``isode/rtse echo'', ''isode/rtse sink'' isode/ros_echo, isode/ros_sinkrosap echo, sink, isode/echo, isode/sink
Finally,on those hosts with sub-second timing facilities,by redirecting isoc's standard input to a file, raw performance at a given layer can be measured.
