Description :
X11-Basic is a comprehensive non-standard Basic interpreter with full X
capability that integrates features like shell scripting, cgi-Programming and
full graphical visualisation into the easy to learn basic language on modern
computers.
DOOCS is a distributed control system that was developed for HERA and TTF
applications. It is an object oriented system design from the device server
level up to the operator console. The communication is established by a
standard set of data and address objects which are transferred by Remote
Procedure Calls ( ONC RPC) or other protocols.
Doocsxbasic is a modification which combines the DOOCS (and TINE) functionality
with the X11-Basic interpreter.
This package includes the basic interpreter named doocsxbasic. It can be used
as a shell which can run basic-scripts which directly interface with DOOCS and
TINE servers and clients. You can make excecutable scripts p.ex. *.cgi-Scripts
for handling web-input.
You will find some sample programs in
/usr/share/doc/packages/doocsxbasic/examples. A variety of other sample programs
can be found in X11-Basic-examples-1.14.zip, which you can download from the
homepage (http://x11-basic.sourceforge.net/). Also an up-to-date pdf-version
of the manual can be found there.
